Nick Brucker, nominated for “Pittsburgh’s Man of the Year”

Most of the time you think of a Man of the Year as an older gentleman. After all, it takes a while to build a presence and a following, right? Not so in this case. In January 2014, Nick Brucker, owner of Sparq Designs, has defied all odds, and was recently nominated by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for “Pittsburgh Man of the Year.”

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year (MWOY) campaign is a fundraising competition in communities across the U.S. in which participants vie for the title of Man or Woman of the Year. They raise funds for blood cancer research in honor of local children who are blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year-because everyone wins when cancer loses. The titles are awarded to the men and women in each community who raise the most funds during the ten-week campaign; the top local fundraisers in the country also win the national titles.

Nick is a graduate of Clarion University, graduating in 2009 with a BS in Marketing, and 2011 with a Masters in Mass Media and Communications. Nick started Sparq Designs in 2011, and today he has a team of 6.
